Ball Moss: Ball Moss (Tillandsia recurvata) is endemic to Jamaica and parts of the caribbean. Studies have shown that Ball Moss triggers apoptosis (activate programmed cell death) in five cancer cell lines namely; PC-3 prostate cancer; Kaposi Sarcoma, B-cell lymphoma, breast cancer, and B-16 melanoma.
According to the study conducted by the University of the West Indies the Ball Moss extract demonstrated anti-proliferation activity, killing > 50% of the cells at a concentration of 2.5 μg/ml. Kaposi sarcoma tumours were inhibited by 75% compared to control in vivo (p < 0.05).
Ginger: Very powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties protect against cancer. Ginger has been found to be effective against various GI cancers such as gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, colorectal cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma. It is very effective for breaking down tumours, cyst and polyps.
Turmeric: This golden herb has active polyphenol called curcumin that is shown to inhibit growth of cancer cells modulating cancer development and progression. Turmeric also reduce inflammation and cleanse the liver which play a vital role in cancer fighting.
Cayenne Pepper: Contains capsaicin that known to slow and destroy cancer cells.
Capsaicin has been shown to alter the expression of several genes involved in cancer cell survival, growth arrest, angiogenesis and metastasis.
